WHAT IS THE GREATER LOSS?

I was thinking about the recent tragedies in Orlando, FL where over 100 people were killed or critically injured in the gay nightclub Pulse and also about the little child who was dragged into the water by an alligator and died.

Both of these events are tragic, even horrific; why? because of the violent ways that the victims died in both cases. It boggles the mind when so many people are killed or injured in mass violence but it’s just as mind boggling the way that this small innocent child died; both these events are nightmarish and both cause people to cry out for justice for the lives that were lost.

I want to say however, that there is so much more here than meets the eye and we need to understand what is the real tragedy.

In the case of the small toddler, this child was innocent and had little or no opportunity to know or accept Jesus the Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was, in a sense, a victim of poor decision or action of one or both parents because he was not closely monitored or supervised at that moment.

I don’t know what distracted these parents at that time….I pray that it wasn’t a cellphone texting distraction, but it gave the enemy a foothold, an open door to wreak havoc in their lives. All the enemy needs is tiny opening of the door and he will rush in and cause horrific events to occur in our lives.

What happened to this family could shake a believers faith to the core, even cause them to blame and turn away from God. Because one of the first thoughts people have is….why did God allow it.

In the case of the nightclub massacre incident, you have a massive loss of life and injury to so many at one time and at the hand of someone who was clearly disturbed.

These were adults who may or may not have heard the message of Jesus Christ or who may have heard it and lived in it, but rejected it so as to live life on their own terms. So there is the real possibility that most or many of these people had the opportunity to choose; and they chose to go with their own way of life living by the world’s wisdom and standard and rejecting God’s Truths and commands.

I have no doubt that they firmly believe that they are who God created them to be and that they have every right to live their lives contrary to what is taught in the Bible….which is the Word of God, which is Jesus the Christ.

They subscribe to the wisdom of the world (which is controlled by Satan himself) rather than the Holy and Life-giving Word of God which is the “Power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes…”; so the world grieves for the loss of physical life not understanding that the greater loss for these people is Eternal Life with Jesus the Christ.

The baby who died had no chance to make choices good or bad that would affect his eternal life….his parents paid the ultimate price for a moment of inattentiveness and I can only pray that they will not blame God. I believe this baby is with the Lord Jesus in heaven because he was innocent.

The people at the nightclub and even the man who killed and injured them all were at an age that they could seek God in His Word, or listened to someone who may have given them the message of salvation but they chose, at that time, to identify with who they are in the flesh rather than identify with who they could’ve been in Christ Jesus.

Sadly, if there was no repentance or crying out the Lord Jesus before they perished, they will spend eternity in hell. I know that many of you will reject what I’m saying, but I must tell the Truth according to God’s Word….I believe God’s Word above all else.

I pray for the family and friends of the deceased and injured in that terrible nightclub attack, that they will be comforted and find peace in Jesus Christ. I pray for the family of the baby boy who died, that they too will turn to the Lord Jesus for peace and comfort and that they will continue to trust Him in all things.

THE GREATER LOSS IS ETERNAL LIFE WITH OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST….Amen!
