Every day I feel more and more uncomfortable with the world. The darkness and wickedness has increased to the highest degree conceivable, yet from what Scripture teaches “it will increase even more”…..how can that be possible?
And why has this happened and what is the cause and who is responsible for all of this? Well, saints, we have raised very little opposition or criticism (other than among ourselves) to the lies and wickedness that go on in the world. We’ve allowed the very critical sense of a Holy God and a Holy people to be overshadowed by A WORLD WITHOUT SHAME.
Every day I hear from the media, from people around me (in and outside the church), from all corners of the world, that man must exercise his right to do what he wants, live the way he wants and be who and whatever he wants to be…..EACH PERSON MUST LIVE THEIR OWN TRUTH. God has little or no value in the society that men have conjured up in their dark minds.
Utter destruction is imminent and we must understand and prepare for the coming judgment and wrath of God….not in expectation that we are all going to be “raptured away”; but that many of us are going to participate in these events and our purpose will be to the light and pillar of Truth, that men will run to.
I’ve been sensing lately that our prayer must be for mankind to come to a point of shame….shame that will birth in us a godly sorrow, a repentant heart and humility before our God.
Let’s understand what shame (shamefulness, shamelessness) is and how destructive it is to all of us. It is designed to destroy the fear and reverence that we must have towards our God.
shame[ shaym ]NOUN
1. negative emotion: a negative emotion that combines feelings of dishonor, unworthiness, and embarrassment
2. capacity to feel unworthy: the capacity or tendency to feel shame
“He has no shame.”
3. state of disgrace: a state of disgrace or dishonor
“bring shame on the family”
disgraceful, outrageous, scandalous, mean, low, base, infamous, indecent, degrading, vile, wicked, atrocious, unworthy, reprehensible, ignominious, dastardly, unbecoming, dishonourable
shameless [ˈʃeɪmlɪs] adj
1. having no sense of shame; brazen
2. done without shame; without decency or modesty
brazen, audacious, flagrant, abandoned, corrupt, hardened, indecent, brash, improper, depraved, wanton, unabashed, profligate, unashamed, incorrigible, insolent, unprincipled, impudent, dissolute, reprobate, immodest.
Shame is something we must cultivate in our character so that we can honor God and man as we should; a sense of shame is something we must take care not to lose lest we become shameless (do any sinful thing) or shameful (wicked).
Zephaniah 2:1-3 (AMP)
1 Collect your thoughts, yes, unbend yourselves [in submission and see if there is no sense of shame and no consciousness of sin left in you], O shameless nation [not desirous or desired]!
2 [The time for repentance is speeding by like chaff whirled before the wind!] Therefore consider, before God’s decree brings forth [the curse upon you], before the time [to repent] is gone like the drifting chaff, before the fierce anger of the Lord comes upon you—yes, before the day of the wrath of the Lord comes upon you!
3 Seek the Lord [inquire for Him, inquire of Him, and require Him as the foremost necessity of your life], all you humble of the land who have acted in compliance with His revealed will and have kept His commandments; seek righteousness, seek humility [inquire for them, require them as vital]. It may be you will be hidden in the day of the Lord’s anger.
Daniel 12:1-3 (KJV)
12 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
Philippians 3:18-20 (GW)
18 I have often told you, and now tell you with tears in my eyes, that many live as the enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 In the end they will be destroyed. Their own emotions are their god, and they take pride in the shameful things they do. Their minds are set on worldly things. 20 We, however, are citizens of heaven. We look forward to the Lord Jesus Christ coming from heaven as our Savior.
Romans 1:25-27 (AMP)
25 Because they exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, Who is blessed forever! Amen (so be it).(A)
26 For this reason God gave them over and abandoned them to vile affections and degrading passions. For their women exchanged their natural function for an unnatural and abnormal one,
27 And the men also turned from natural relations with women and were set ablaze (burning out, consumed) with lust for one another—men committing shameful acts with men and suffering in their own [a]bodies and personalities the inevitable consequences and penalty of their wrong-doing and going astray, which was [their] fitting retribution.
The world is on a course of destruction, whether people believe it or not….the time of Tribulation (Armageddon) is coming. Our King (Jesus) is coming with a shout and he will come as Judge and bring a reward to His righteous children.
Let’s not focus our prayers so much on our personal needs and wants, let’s focus instead on the nations that the Holy Spirit will pierce the hearts of every man, woman and child and bring all men to repentance.
