I have recently launched a fundraising campaign to raise money for my virtual youth choir Christmas project, “The Night Baby Jesus Was Born”. Most, if not all of you know that I have previously attempted to raise money for this project on two other occasions with zero success.
I thought that by using crowdfunding platforms like “Indiegogo” I was sure to attract attention to this worthy project and be able to raise a minimal amount of the money needed, but that was not the case.
Here’s what I’ve noticed in going through this exercise of faith….because fundraising is truly exercising your faith; on secular crowdfunding sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, projects like raising funds for medical bills, secular music project, secular film or video projects, gaming video projects, and one of the top earners – animal related projects, all do very well getting support from people.
However, when I looked on Christian crowdfunding site, FaithLauncher, the difference is staggering. I looked through several funding projects on this site and most had little or no support for their projects. Below, I’ve listed 3 projects from Christian music, Christian film/video and Christian Ministry that raised nearly nothing….one of the three raised $1,100 of a $10,000 goal.

What is wrong with this picture? The children of the world go above and beyond to support common causes, many of which are pure nonsense, and the children of God won’t give a dollar (or in my case $5) to support projects which will glorify God in many cases.
There’s something terribly wrong Saints! I’m concerned about all this talk about LOVE, LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF, GOD IS LOVE, LOVE ONE ANOTHER, YADA YADA YADA!!! Don’t tell me you love me, yet won’t give me $1 or $5.
If your concerned that the money will be mishandled, and that’s a legitimate concern, you should say to yourself, “Well, I support politicians, and actors and singers, and events and charities that are non-Christian and many times they fail and misuse funds, so why not support my brother or sister in Christ, who is at least attempting to give God some Glory through their works.” You’ll spend $100 or more to hear the President speak at a fund-raising dinner, but won’t spend $1 or $5 to let God’s voice speak to people who are dying daily without hearing about or knowing Jesus Christ.
The Word of God teaches:
[ Life Through the Spirit ] Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
And so I’m not condemning anyone of you, I just want my brothers and sisters in Christ to take a closer look at themselves and ask….”Why shouldn’t I support my brother?”
